Date (Year/Month/Date): 2009-06-15 JavaScript for capturing onclick event of checkbox in a function and work well in both IE and Mozilla Firefox While design signup page for this site, I had to introduce a checkbox for showing Terms or condition information, and every visitor has to check this checkbox before proceed with signup/register with this site. Idea is to use JavaScript for capturing on click event on the checkbox and checking for checked or unchecked status for this checkbox, and depending on the checked or unchecked status of this checkbox, we are going to either enable or disable the Register Button, for visitor to click or proceed with signup. Initially I started with window.document.forms[0].agreeNotAgree.status for checking its value as either true or false. It worked fine with IE, but failed to work with Mozilla, firefox. As my intentiona was to have JavaScript code that should work on both these browsers. Then by changing window.document.forms[0].agreeNotAgree.status to window.document.forms[0].agreeNotAgree.checked it worked fine in both IE and Mozilla Firefox browsers. Javascript function looks somthing like this:
function enableRegister() {
	if(window.document.forms[0].agreeNotAgree.checked == true) {
	    window.document.forms[0].butRegister.disabled=false;
	}
	if(window.document.forms[0].agreeNotAgree.checked == false) {
	    window.document.forms[0].butRegister.disabled=true;
	}

}
Here agreeNotAgree is the name for the checkbox and butRegister is the name for the Register button.
