Creating an enterprise
application for a sample
project in order to understand
various aspects of enterprise
application development, with
many different layers such as
web, application, persistence,
transaction, security, scalable,
availability, by implementing
cluster aware deployment environment.

In web tier, MVC architecture
helps in managing change nicely,
and supports extensibility, and
proper delegation of business
implementation.
Business objects and domain classes performs with transaction and security by implementing SessionBean and EntityBean and Data access patterns, depending on the type of operation required to be performed on data. Legacy integration layer is to be implemented using web services. Logging and Tracing has to be present for proper monitoring health of the running application. Logging and Tracing should be enabled and disabled, based on configuration file, and using JMX, it should be re-configuration based on properties configuration, without server restart. I shall try to demonstrate these non functional requirements of enterprise application, by using some open source or free J2EE compliant application server in my subsequent writings. It always helpful to explore various features of J2EE Technology compliant open source application server, as it is possible to debug down to the source code level of application server.
